hello there :)

i'm looking into majoring in physics and also software engineering, i wish you could guys help me find a university that is pretty good in both majors !
and i'd prefer once that is better in software engineering cause i like it more.

any recommendations ?
i'd appreciate it if you provide me with a list of names you recommend in order.

Thanks in Advance ^_^

Few schools have a specific software engineering major; most of those intending go into software development major in computer science.

Besides all of the usual suspects (MIT, Stanford, Berkeley, Cornell, UIUC, Texas, Michigan, Wisconsin, etc.), there are Stony Brook and Minnesota, which are not as super-selective, and have lower list prices than most of the usual suspects.

There are lots of schools with CS and Physics. But you need to look at where can you get in, based on your unweighted GPA and test scores. What can your family afford to pay each year?

You might look into schools which have a combination B.S. Physics - M.S. Software Engineering co-terminal degree (my university, [Illinois Institute of Technology](http://www.iit.edu) , and a number of others have such a combination) that can be completed in 5 years. This is the same time it would take you for two B.S. degrees and an M.S. would be a stronger credential for a job search.

Thanks Everyone, that’s weird i though i had set the forums to send me notifications but apparently i didn’t :/

anyway,

ucbalumnus : Thanks dude i appreciate it .

BeanTownGirl : as for that i’m actually holding a scholarship in which the tuition is completely covered and i get 1800$ that i can distribute on rent, food, and other life-needs monthly …
so the tuition doesn’t matter in my case and i wanna get the best of it
if i got good enough S.A.Ts grades i would make M.I.T my first choice … that’s what i though until i was told how expensive it’s to live around it and that i can’t afford it as the 1800$ wouldn’t be enough, and i can live far away from it and drive there early everyday but i’ll have to tighten up and only 300$ will remain i don’t don’t believe that’ll be enough for (fuel, food, clothing, home needs, repairs, hardware, the bills, etc…)
so basically i’m looking for a good college that have the combination and is better in software engineering .

xraymancs: yea actually that’s exactly what i’m lookin’ for xD
i’mma look that university up, Thanks.

EDIT : i’ve just looked Illinois Institute of Technology it’s amazing it’s just perfect thanks :)
