Do most colleges allow double minors, or is this mostly unheard of?

minors are kind of pointless, all they really do is tack on unnecessairy course hours on already taxing loads. the typical minor requires about 16 hours of additional courses, this could deter from valuable As which is all most grad and professional programs look at. nobody really cares that you have a minor in xyz if you have a cumulative 2.0, focus all of your brain power on your major, and if you so choose pick up the minor(s) later on in your college career

Double minors are really common. Triple minors become harder to get. If you want them and you plan your courses out, it's easy.

I'm an engineering major but will have minors in history and math and if I wanted to I could do environmental science(with the addition of one extra class) but I'm not going to.

surely. no prob.

whoever said minors mean crap is completely wrong. they really can number one enhance your major, or expand your horizons to other things. I have a friend who was a criminal justice major and minored in Psych. he just got a job dealing with his psych minor that has absolutely nothing to do with criminal justice. I personally had two minors (i was 1 class short of my 3rd minor) and they were fine arts and graphic design. I got numerous free lance job offers as a result...

I know lots of people who double major and double minor or double major and triple minor.

Personally, looking at the classes I'm required to take, I'm probably going to get an econ and Spanish minor without even trying just due to my two majors.

it's really not hard and it doesn't prolong your stay.. i mean, you have to take electives anyway.. just use the minor classes for your electives.. and some minors over lap with each other or with your majors...
