Well, I have all those things. The only thing missing is a hook. Hopefully the legacy will be enough of a hook!

I still haven't gotten anything...gettin worried

I'm sure this question has been brought up before...

Online notification?
Anyword on when they will send the mail?

I am more than just nervous. I will be out of state, and need to arrange admit weekends with different schools, etc, from their. This info would be very helpful!

They didnt have online notification for SCEA so my guess is that they wont have it for RD either.

Well, I haven't visited the Stanford board in a while, but now that I have cooled off, I think I will share what I thought was a bit surpising.

Waitlisted.

No slam dunks. I guess it wasn't where I was supposed to go. It was hard because I thought I could do it. Just a warning that even if things look good, one can never tell. I got burned by it.

Sorry, jerew! My son, also a legacy, was also waitlisted. His stats weren't as good as yours, however, so I really expected it. He would have liked to have been accepted just for bragging rights. (His brother is a senior at Stanford), but he doesn't really want to attend anyway. Sometime after he applied, he decided that he will be going into music performance, and Stanford is not as strong in that as some other schools that accepted him. (Although Stanford is superior academically to them.)

Hope you have lots of other good choices!

Thanks. Maybe I can attend for grad school. (Actually, this a question as well. I was a weak legacy, meaning that my dad attended for grad school, not undergrad. This may have made a slight difference. Will this help for grad or not? Is engineering/phyiscs impossible to get into there? They are the best, but their acceptance rate is 35%! Can doing well at Ivy get me a spot in Stanford? How about summer REU?)

Actually, I do have great options. My grief of the Stanford Waitlist was curbed by a prestigious scholarship at Cornell (Tradition Fellow) with money attached. Goes to show that things do work out, although not at first glance. I would be lying if I said I wasn't still sad, but maybe the extra attention given to me at Cornell cuz' of the award may help me more than Stanford could. Fewer student loans too.

Man, I got into Stanford. I'd be willing to go to Cornell with a big scholarship. Can we trade, lol?

Thanks. I wouldn't mind the trade, but then again, it may be because I have this utopic vision of Stanford and loyalty because of family. (I was there when I was 10 with my dad seeing one of his friends) They wouldn't have lost me to somewhere else. I just have to remember that had I visited and relooked at the price tags, I would be equally happy either way. I guess it just hurts that I couldn't decide myself. I may have taken Cornell anyway. Thanks, though.
