Chances for a Double Legacy?

<p>I'm applying for Stanford EA in the fall. Here are my stats:</p>

<p>White male from New England.</p>

<p>SATs:
V: 800
CR: 780
M: 630
Composite: 2210</p>

<p>SAT IIs:
Literature: 750
U.S. History: 740
World History: 720</p>

<p>GPA: 3.9/4.0--I don't know my weighted GPA</p>

<p>Rank: 9/97 at a small Catholic school that's decent but not great
My grades are really good in the classes that I'm interested in, like English and history and languages, but I SUCK at math. My girlfriend tutors me and I manage to get high Bs, but that's what pulls my rank and GPA down.</p>

<p>ECs:
Basketball: This is really important to me. Four years Varsity on a pretty good team, but I'm nowhere near good enough to play for Stanford. I've been the head coach (unpaid) of a kids' team in the summer for the past three years. I was also the assistant coach of an elementary school team in the winter last year, and I plan to do the same this year. I have some awards, like MVP last year and some all-league honors.
NHS: I'll be the treasurer next year. Not a big deal.
Community Service Corps: member for four years</p>

<p>Recs:
Should be pretty good. My teachers really like me. One of my recs will be from a teacher whose class had a lot of discussion and debate. I always participated a lot.</p>

<p>Other:
I'm a double legacy. So that helps.
My family is pretty well-off.
My potential majors are English and history.</p>

<p>So, how are my chances? Does Stanford weigh legacies heavily? Any input would be great.</p>

<p>I'm not sure about the legacy weight, but I'm pretty sure they highly recommend a Math II SAT 2.</p>

<p>Thanks for the response, MotherOfTwo. I should have mentioned that I'm planning on taking the Math II SAT at the next testing date. I've been scoring over 600 on the practice tests, which I know isn't good by Stanford's standards, but I hope they'll recognize that my interests lie completely outside of math. </p>

<p>I also forgot to include my AP scores (summer has fried my brain, apparently). My school only offers two AP classes to juniors, and I got a 5 on English Lit and a 4 on US History. Next year I'll be taking AP Government, AP French, and AP English Lang. The only other AP that my school offers is AP Calc, which I'm skipping for obvious reasons...</p>

<p>Any other opinions on my chances? What are my weaknesses as an applicant?</p>

<p>just get around 700-800 on the math section and you'll be fine</p>

<p>there isn't anyway knowing that they will accept you but you have a good shot</p>

<p>your ecs looks good plus i might be doing the same thing as you; coaching little kids in basketball and varsity stuff. yeah i might even play for stanford. </p>
