I've tried to use Bit Torrent...and I dont get it, or it just doesn't work on my computer. Help?

for bit torrent stuff, torrent spy is pretty decent. it's got pretty much everything (music, movies, tv, etc.). and allofmp3 is awesome if you're just looking for music. they charge $.02 for each mb, which ends up being about $1 for each cd.

what is the site that u can dl bittorrent files from?

torrentspy

and isohunt

mytunes all the way

Watch out for the RIAA people. 22 students at MIT just got sued...

u shudnt be caught if u only doenload stuff and not upload it. the ppl who got caught usually were uploading a lot of sings and ppl were downloaidng from them. juss disable ur share folder and tht shud keep u away from getting sued

soulseek, especially if you're into some kind of esoteric music

i hope this isn't illegal, but i payed for limewire pro a while ago, and I can distribute it to whoever/however many ppl I want...so if anyone wants it PM me

today on slashdot: judge rules that universitys are not required to help the RIAA locate students.

If the RIAA can find you they can still sue you, but its a lot harder to locate students on a university network without being on the network and/or breaking some laws in hte process.

^ this is true
besides, if you try to get into most university networks (from anything other than I2), the ridiculously slow speeds due to the firewalls and such would be enough to drive a hacker insane hahaha.

I know the guy who started up the I2 Hub (originated on my campus). He lives in Canada now...
Since then the campus has switched primarily to DC++, whose hub is located in the common room of a friend's suite (hmmm I'm noticing a trend...). We also have a nifty little thing where we can just type "find" into an Internet browser and if we're on the campus network get a file search thing automatically. Quite nice, and it's the largest pirate server in the country.
