Can anyone who has gone through the Tisch dramatic writing program at NYU tell me what they thought of the program and what opportunities it gave them and if it was worth the high price tag? Thanks a bunch!

I am sorry to not be able to help you with regard to the Dramatic Writing program at Tisch as I don't know anyone in it. But you are definitely on the right track by choosing to talk to those who ARE in it, which is invaluable in terms of gleaning various perspectives (in fact, getting more than one is optimum). Yesterday while at the Tisch Saturday in the Square event, my D got to talk to kids in CAP21 (the program she got into) and get very specific questions answered (plus has spoken to kids she knows in the program) and has found this quite helpful. When we were at the University Scholar luncheon, a couple of the kids were in Dramatic Writing. I have a suggestion....call Tisch and ask if they can give you contact information with any current students so that you might get in touch to have your questions answered by those who are in the know. Even the faculty people at the University Scholar luncheon brought along current students in this specific program to speak and answer questions because the faculty/deans at this realized the value in hearing first hand accounts. So, I really think that a dean or someone else at the school would be more than happy to have you get in touch with current students in Dramatic Writing. Try that. Also visit the Tisch live journal and post your question there!

All the best, Susan
