Dream School Chances

I'm a going to be a senior at a prep school in SE PA. I have some extenuating circumstances and my grades suffered until this year. I will address that in my college essay. Do I have a chance? My school doesnt rank. My cousin also goes there, if that should be mentioned. Villanova is very similar to my high school and I know that I will thrive there.

Not likely

With a 2.95 cumulative GPA i doubt it

Villanova takes more into account than your cumulative GPA, especially since yours has increased over your four years of high school. If I were you, I would 1) Thoroughly explain extenuating circumstances in your application and 2) Make sure to keep your grades up for senior year 3) Let Nova know how much you love them and how much going there would mean to you. They sometimes don’t accept kids with perfect GPA’s and SATs just because they know those kids aren’t going to actually go to the school. Nova wants students who want to be there and want to make the school a better place. It’s also good because your Arts & Sciences which is the biggest and least competitive in terms of grades of all of the colleges. Don’t count yourself out.

-this coming from a current nova student who had extenuating circumstances and who was accepted early action.

Nursing has the lowest scores.
