Dreams (the sleeping ones)

I'm really bored and I should really go to sleep but I'm not sleepy..
anyway, DREAMS

I have crazy crazy dreams. I can't be bothered to go indepth into them but I have expereinced the 'falling' dream, the 'chasing' dream, 'the killing' dream, alot of dreams.

Have you guys had a dream where you are just about to eat, and you pick up the fork, but you can't grab the fork with your hand - and then you realise that you are trying to pick up the fork with your real hand and there's nothing to grab in your real hand and you realise you're dreaming and you then wake up?

And when you get chased, do you ever feel as if you are running not fast enough? Like, your legs feel stiff while running, while your heart pounds really hard, and the chasers are getting really close and you panic?

Have you guys astral projected? I think I have. It starts off with a slight tingling sensation
then a buzzing noise (first like a mosquito, then a bee, then the sound of cars going through a deep tunnel)
then the sound starts vibrating throughout the body
then the head feels light, the body feels light
then you feel as if you are floating
then you suddenly see images behind your eyelid - I had ones of a teacher, and I was looking through the eyes of a student, the child next to me had orange hair and was talking to me. Next, it was of a clown. then a running cheetah, then an office - where I am walking (I see things through the person's eyes) backwards where I see the corridors swoosh past me. Then in this room, a woman tried to slam me down. Everything felt real.
Then you see a greyish wall and you realise it's your ceiling which is unbelieveably close to your nose.
Then you turn your head around and realise that your bed is all the way down there.
Then you see a cord (like an unbelicle cord) that connects your head to this other greyish figure on top of the bed (which I assumed, is my sleeping self)
Then you panic and you fall so fast
Then you wake up (normal body) but you can't move anything. Sleep paralysis for like 2 min.

^Is that astral projection? I'm not quite sure. I have them like once every twice a week now.. But the images are different all the time - they swish around so fast, and I can feel my eyeballs moving rapidly underneath my lids.

Dreams are so strange. Couple of years ago, I used to think the dreams that we have, are a snapshot of our 'other' life - same person, different friends, different culture. And when our 'other' life has dreams, they have a look at how we are living. Like, in a dream, I might see a myself and my friend shopping for black lipgloss. And in our 'other' world, my other self might be doing that, except it would be perfectly normal to shop for black lipgloss. And when they dream and see how I live, they might be like "I had the weirdest dream. I had a dream that you and Hannah were eating McDonalds and Coke at the same time!"
I know it sounds crazy but yeah..

The falliing dreams! They are soo awesome!! You fall and you feel like you are falling and falling but you never get hurt! And you wake up in bed, all tight and stuck on the bedsheets!

The nightmares.. I always wake up with a pounding heart - when I wake up, I can honestly hear my heart pound in my ears. I had so many nightmares when I was little. I don't even want to type them in because even thinking of them gives me the shivers.

And have you guys had the same dream over and over again? I had this nightmare 6 times throughout my life and it just freaked me out so much. Some of my friends have said that they always go to this 'place' when they have dreams. They have never seen of their 'place' but they sometimes end up there (eg. like a beach with the cafe with the same person at the bar.. exact same setting). Although the setting is different, they said that different stuffs happen there: sometimes shopping, sometimes eating, sometimes dying, etc..

Have you guys experienced any of these kinds of dreams? Share your experiences with the rest! (well, if others don't really care, atleast share with me :))
wow this was long.

NoFX, yes that is astral projection, a type of OOBE. i've always wanted to experience OOBE, so far i only experienced it once.

I've had the falling dream before.

I've also had a dream about my teeth rotting and falling out (all happening within seconds). I read an article saying that the "teeth falling out" dream could be due to consciousness about appearance (no one would feel pretty without teeth!) or afraid of public speaking.
This makes sense, because I had lost my retainer a few weeks before, and I felt conscious about whether my teeth were starting to go crooked or not (I even asked friends). Weird, huh?!

Also, I just recently had a dream where my sister was put into a wheelchair (maybe because of paralysis).

What does OOBE stand for?

Also, I've had one of those dreams where if feels like I fell (only a foot or two), and I woke up because my leg spazed.

Also, did you ever nap during class or study hall and wake up because your leg/arm/etc. spazed? Those are embarrassing! lol...

OOBE: out of body experience

There has also been an interesting [albeit crazy] theory. I'm gonna go Matrix-style now:

This theory states that our near futures have already been determined, that we are fated to do certain things and make certain decisions. And that when we dream sometimes we can see the future because it's already happened.

I bring this up because I've had a few dreams of certain points in time where I was doing something. The next day I would experience the exact same thing I went through in my dream (I kid you not). Ever since the first time, I've recorded every dream I've had, and a few of them re-occurred in real life in the near future.

Most of my deams are Banging really hot girls.

But i think I go passed Rem sleep. almost into a Deep Coma. because i cant remeber anything.

LOL! That's great...

If the theory that I mentioned earlier is the actual truth, then you're in for a good time Scotch

I've gotten sleep paralysis.

The closest thing I've ever had to the falling dream was a seemingly neverending waterslide. It was actually quite pleasant. I woke up when I reached the bottom.

Anyway, anyone ever experience lucid dreams? My little brother has them all the time, where he suddenly realizes he is dreaming. He says he's never been able to go further than that, but hey, it's cool. I've only had a few, but it was a weird experience. In my dream, I noticed that something had changed that wasn't supposed to change and I blurted out, "This isn't real." After that, I became conscious that I was dreaming.

My dreams used to be random when I was younger, but now they tend to focus on school, sports, and my friends.

i love it when i become conscious that i'm dreaming. i start to do things that i wouldn't do in reality; pull the trigger on someone i don't like, give my crush a slurpy kiss...:D

LOL!! When I read that, I imagined a guy, smilng and sliding through a peaceful waterslide with classical music in the background.

Lucid dreaming - I've only had that once: I was on this field of neverending grass and it just came to my head that I was dreaming. Then I woke up.

That's an interesting theory college here i come! If it is true, I will get my acceptance letter from Princeton from a FedEx van :) I hope that theory is correct.. hope and hope and hope.. oh but I also had a dream when I was younger, of me killing my mum (but she had a mask on so I didn't know it was her)

Have you guys had a really really sad dream and you cry in your dream and you wake up crying? It's happend to me a couple of times.. Once was of that time when I killed my mum ^

Do you reckon dreams mean anything? Last year, I kept a horrible secret from all my friends and I had a dream that I was swimming naked in a swimming pool and all thes little boys tried to look at my body :s I read in this dream dictionary that I was afraid of telling people of my 'secret'.

I don't dream/remember my dreams much anymore. When I was younger I used to be afraid to go to bed because it was so wierd to think that you're just not...existing...for 8 hours a day.

I used to dream about drowning a lot, but never drown. I just float under the surface of water for what seems like a long period of time.

My childhood through young adult dreams used to involve getting chased by cars a lot. Once I stop running from the car, I would wake up just before the car hits me.

Music (I like to sleep with the radio on) and ambient sounds (moving vehicles, a garbage truck, construction work, light rail trolley, birds chirping, the sound of a fan or air conditioner, etc.) will infiltrate my dream, but won't necessarily wake me up.

Female singers definitely enhance my "wake up dream" and the song that is playing on the radio when I wake up will provide background music in my mind all day long. There is almost always some music playing in my mind.

I can never remember if I dream in b&w or color. I absolutely hate waking up from a bad dream, and then falling back to sleep just to have that bad dream pick up where it left off.

My wildest dreams happen when I eat really spicy food right before I fall asleep. Once I figure out that what I am dreaming about couldn't really be happening, I will usually wake up.

Once I wake up, I don't remember details about my dreams, just little snippets. I am not a detail oriented person when awake either.

^ me too. Snippets! Sometimes throughout the day, something usually triggers my memory and I remember a bit of a dream.

I'm not sure if my dreams are black and white or color but I heard that guys dream in black and white..

Sometimes, my alarm sound fuses into my dream.. Like, I had a dream where I was in school, and my phone made alarm noises. and I got caught for it. But it stopped for a bit (in real life) and in my dream, the teacher was searching for it in my bag.. I was quite relieved. And while the teacher was walking back to the front of the classroom, my phone rang again! Then i woke up.

It's always weird when music/morning talk show infiltrate my dream. When it's the talk show, it usually becomes me in a weird situation talking with the voices that I hear (one time, I was treading water in the middle of the ocean with the cast of my local station's morning show).

When it's music, it's either really weird and it's like background music to whatever's going on, or someone's singing in the dream.

I dream in color.

Most of my dreams involve hiding from something, someone. Nightmares suck. Some of them forced me to either become a coward or hero (confront the inevitable and die.) One of them involved a vampire. I couldn't do anything but to run and hide and when stepped at the wrong path, got bitten. One of them involved saving someone by sacrificing my own life or saving my own and sacrificing the other. Twice, I've had the same dream. During the first, I had no choice but to save my life. I felt really awful when I woke up. The second time I had it, I died and the person's save. I was wondering if these dreams are like tests of your conscience or something. I have no idea.

I've had a couple of them repeatedly, at the same hiding location.

Some common dreams.

lol the title of this thread cracked me up.
