My son is considering Drew, but even after visiting, I have no feeling for the type of kids who attend. Is there a social life? Particularly, is it a suitcase school?

Our son had a friend who attended Drew and he spent several weekends visiting her. He enjoyed these times with her and her friends and seem to indicate that there was lots going on, though I suspect quite a few students spend weekend nites in NYC as it is a short rr ride away.

My son's friend was quite unpretentious, even a bit geeky and she seemed to enjoy Drew and seemed to fit in. If your son is considering Drew perhaps he should schedule a weekend visit. BTW, she did move into an off campus apartment for at least her sr year so this is an option for upperclass students at Drew.

My cousin's S attended Drew. Proximity to NYC (for business internships) was the principal reason, and it worked out fabulously well in that respect. I'm told the alumni network is very effective. Still, after several discussions with cousin about Drew I'm left with the impression that it's a place one either "fits" or doesn't. I'd say two visits are in order, one during the week when classes are in session and another on a sunny Saturday afternoon. JMHO.
