Drexel Admissions Class of 2022

Accepted with $36k scholarship/finaid per annum!!! But that’s still around $30k for me so don’t know :frowning:

My son was accepted with $27.6K scholarship/financial aid. Do students have to live on campus or can they commute & if they commute I’m guessing the financial aid portion of the award would likely be eliminated.

@Cookies510 The finaid is an agreement between your son and Drexel that Drexel will provide him with that amount yearly regardless of whether he lives on campus or not. there is an option to live off campus but first you will have to contact his advisor or admissions to notify them

Thanks @supremo. Even with the scholarship/financial aid package Drexel is the most expensive of my son’s options (including OOS publics). Since we live in Center City it doesn’t make sense spend $14K on room & board. But living at home would make it much more affordable and at the low end of options (although he would much rather go away).

Accepted into Fashion Merchandising!!

My recent discoveries have lead me to believe that this is not a four year university I am currently enrolled and transferring out to get my bachelors degree.

I here they are giving out scholarships for admitted students who will play an intramural sport but it is only 5k

I got in, yay! Combined $39500 with a drexel grant, founder’s scholarship and a westphal portfolio scholarship (video dance audition). Drexel is my dream school and the first yes in about 7 of my 9 applications (2 waitlists), I really hope I get to go!!

Same, I got 39k so i would need 15k more, plus I’m international, so it’ll already be expensive to move from home…

@kaiyaco May I ask ur stats please?

I just checked my portal and I was accepted into the college of arts and sciences with a major in political science. I’m really surprised that they were so generous with aid I received $41,000 in grants

I got into Mechanical Engineering with 26K scholarship. I am an international and it is not worth spending 40K/year on a 351-400 ranked university . Rather I would spend about 25% less on a top 50-100 university

@Hbs2018 I got a way less score than you. However our scholarships have 3K difference only. I too got accepted into Mechanical Engineering. Wanted to known if merit scholarships are based on any particular criteria except the SAT?

Um… Congrats to everyone!! I got in for Chemical Engineering with a total annual financial aid of about 53K…?

my daughter has been accepted with some merit and need based aid. Does anyone know if the amounts can be appealed once they are given out? thanks

OMG GOT IN WITH $60,000 per year for four years!!! Over the moon rn!!!

International student. Got in with $30,600 per year. Don’t know how I am going to attend since I have to pay around $30,000 and my EFC was clearly $10,000 on the CSS profile. Don’t know what to do right now or if I should appeal. What could you advice me?

@mojojojo23 sure :slight_smile:

  • female from Jamaica
  • large, local, public school for freshman and sophomore years, transferred to a small, international private school (full scholarship) for junior and senior years to do the IB diploma program
  • Challenging courses I guess (I took a Caribbean school leaving exam and got pretty good passes, and I'm doing the full IBDP at my school, which is the most challenging option offered, so yeah)
  • not sure what IB predicted grade was sent...last I saw was 36/45
  • Applying GPA (4.0 scale) was 3.5 (combination from current and old school so idk how they did that because they're two different education systems; also, this is unweighted, my school weights for IB students, but idk what that was); midyear I think was like 3.75? (my school is so secretive with these things, sorry)
  • my grades generally fall between A+ and B-; 'Second Honors' (B+ avg) at the public school 4 out of 6 terms; High Honour Roll (3.75 GPA) in Semester 1 of 11th, Honour Roll in Sem 2 (3.5 GPA), High Honour Roll in Sem 1 of 12th
  • 2 ACT: 28 comp, then 30 comp. I think I sent them both...
  • essay on how not making the large public school's dance team 3 years in a row (grades 7 - 9) helped me realize my love for dance, and basically myself.
  • extracurriculars = advanced company member in a pre-professional dance company, Drama Club (11th), Dance Ensemble senior/mentor, school store marketing team (11th), environmental club (11th), church youth group member, business club (9th - 10th); my CAS project (IB requirement) was choreographing and performing in, as well as producing a dance show to raise money for a dance scholarship for someone unable to afford formal dance training.
  • reccs from IB English teacher (2 years), college counselor and Spanish teacher/IB advisor (1.5 years); I know my Eng teacher wrote about my CAS project...
  • CSS Profile submitted in Nov; I'm almost certain my family makes 40k or less a year (translating JMD to USD) plus my younger sister is in uni in Jamaica, which is payable but not cheap...
  • applied RD (EA first but I missed a document submission deadline so I changed to RD) and got accepted to Westphal as a Dance Major (PT focus hopefully)

Hope this helped! Feel free to message me if I can help with anything else (although this was so long, sorry I was trying to be as thorough as possible)

@milo123 what major?

My son got into Biomedical Engineering. Trying to decide between Drexel, Syracuse & VT but pretty sure he will choose Drexel. No complaints here - only a 45 minute train ride from home :wink:
