I just realized that Drexel has a seperate essay on their website that is part of the application. What did you guys write about? And how much emphasis is put on this essay versus the essay on the Common App. Oh, and I am not applying to the Westphal College or for an accelerated degree.

I applied using the common app and they had no supplement. Is this essay required only if you apply using Drexel's online app?

misslisa90 - after reading your post I went on Drexel's website and I saw the reference to the essay but I couldn't access it. Do you have a link? I'm worried because I already submitted my application (used CA) and I wasn't aware of the extra essay. There's no link to it from the CA. Does it have to be submitted separately? Any info would be great!

under the freshman application checklist, step 3 is the essay. i have no idea whether the common app covers this or not. i did it anyways....it can't hurt.

You can either choose to write the essay on why you chose your major, or you can just pick a topic of your choice, and I believe that whether you apply by mail or on the internet you need to write an essay either way.

misslissa90 - thank you! I was finally able to access through the link you posted.

In case anyone else applied using CA like I did, I called and was told that the CA essay is sufficient.

The Drexel essay about major or topic of choice is for those who apply online using Drexel's app. If you send the Drexel app by mail, then you do have to go online and complete their essay.

i submitted mine through commonapp

Just call the admissions office and ask them what to do. They’ll probably tell you to email your correction to enroll@drexel.edu. It’s not a big problem, so don’t worry!
