So i was recent;y accepted to Drexel class of 22. However, we didn’t file the CSS in time and this puts a strain on me attending bc we barely make enough to afford it. My dad used to make 120k so when we filed the FAFSA the tax return info was pretty high but he lost his job last year and he only makes 80k in his new job. The only way I can attend Drexel is if the cost is at most, 40k. I emailed them about the CSS and they said they can’t do anything about it. Is there anyway I can get at least 30k in aid from FAFSA, scholarships, and (loans if we HAVE to)? Is the CSS filed every year? I know the FAFSA is. Is there anyway drexel would be willing to rethink my aid offer if I do enroll bc our financial situation changed heavily.
Looks like you missed the financial aid deadline and Drexel is not said there is nothing they can do about it and is not giving you institutional aid. The tribal counsel has spoken
The FAFSA does not give out money. It is simply a form to determine your eligibility for Federal aid. Based on what you wrote, the only federal aid that you are eligible for is the $5500 loan
In answer to your question, unless Drexel has given you money to make this school affordable, then you are not going to be able to attend and you need to be looking at more affordable options

??? How can your family pay $40k per year for Drexel if they’re only earning $80k per year? What are they supposed to live on?
Sounds like you need to apply to an affordable school and get the FA paperwork in on time.
Take a gap year and go to Drexel next year, after submitting the CSS on time?
