Drexel Medical School

my undergrad is lehigh

hey i just had my interview with drexel. omg there were like 17 INDIAN kids, and only 2 white kids and one asian girl......so surreal (being an indian myself), anyways i think my interview went well. the lady was nice, and asked simple, general questions about my community service and family. my dad and i got lost driving to the med school, so i advise u to leave early cuz philly road signs are just mest up.

palmtreee4, what types of questions did Drexel ask? Was it heavily based on medicine and health care issues?

hey PALMTREE, wut were ur stats to get an interview, also thas crazy 17 indians, im indain myself so iz kinda funny

i had an interview for my drexel med progs on friday

interview was really chill... like... tha easiest thing i've ever done... as long as ur not nervous [which i guess for some ppl is easier said than done] u will be fine... like the interviews dont scare me at all... i consider em my time to shine since i debate so im really comfortable speaking with others... as long as ur confident.. omg so easy... just be honest and never be fake... nd the questions r NOTT hard.. trust me... drexel doesnt try to "stump" u or anything so..... just go in confident... ull be fine

oh yea... maddd indian ppl... OMG... i felt like i was in india... i should started doin bhangra nd ish... nd tha parents.... WOW.. typical friggin desi's... tha whole thing is one hell of an experience

nd besides the indians... there were 2 asians and a couple of jewish kids... its ur typical med skool applicants

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA, yo thas mad funny

yeaa the questions are mainly on you. there were no health issue- related questions, so dont worry. follow what express2nyc said, be confident. it was the easiest interview out of the two (other one is siena) ive already been to. im so worried about umiami tho....

lol, I'm Indian too.

palmtree, check your private message.

can anyone tell me about the interview? I have mine on Saturday. In particular what kind of questions do they ask?

cooldude1818 READ OLD POSTSSSSSSS!!

so there were no managed care questions? my letter from muhlenberg which told me that i was considered for this program said to be ready for health care issue questions

anyone?......

just prepare how you would for a medical school interview. I'm sure everyone here knows how to use google....

so has anybody been to the drexel interview day thing that can tell us exactly what went down between the hours of 9 to 3?? i figure an hour for info session, an hour for a tour, and hour for an interview..what about the other 6 hours? what it be a big deal if i walked in late (cuz i live kinda far and philly traffic gets bad i know - plus ill probably get lost). any other opinions on the interview would be great too..thanks

should i wear a suit?

to dk and lisasimpson.. umm the interview was really easy. There were no ethical/medically related questions. then again. my interview was literally like 15 minutes long and all we talked about was why i wanted to be a doctor. and thats it. My other interviews were def much harder with medical, health care , and ethical issues. do wear a suit dk. i think wearing a suit is the way to go with any interview. try not to be nervous and i think everything will be fine. just think about it this way, just getting an interview itself you already past all the main hurdles. you basically have a 50 % chance roughly of getting in now. and lisa, there was a lot of waiting time. i actually left at 1pm because my interview was at 12:30. but there is really nothing special. i think you should arrive on time though. but you can leave early. good luck 2 you guyz and dont sweat it. im sure you'll do fine.

I had my interview...and I was not impressed at all. First of all as soon as we got their the dean basicallo told us that if we mess up even a little as an undergrad...we are out of the program...no exceptions. Furthermore, doesn't seem like the program really focases on clinical skills. They use actors for training and not real patients. With the program at UMKC, you get to work with REAL patients on the first day...just my two cents

don't a lot of schools use actors? i heard umkc uses virtual anatomy vs. drexel's cadaver lab (correct me if im wrong) - probably a bigger issue than the actor vs. patients thing to most people;

edit - actually i think umkc does have cadaver dissection requirements... probably voids my post then

yea but i heard that a lot of schools are switching to virtual anatomy...which is weird cuz like EVERY school that ive been to has been like "we're better than other schools because we use actual cadavers even though most schools are using virtual anatomy now" ...but i have yet to visit an actual school that does this

its like students saying that med school is very cutthroat and people won't help you and they'll sabotage you - but everyone i talk to says this does not describe them, it just describes "other" people...but nobody seems to personally know these people...ahh its very confusing
