Drexel Scholarship Question

Hello, I applied and received my admissions letter today and in the Financial Aid section it said:

"Financial Aid
The following university award(s) have been granted to you for the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program for the 2013-2014 academic year:
A. J. Drexel Scholarship: $24,500.00
File your 2013-2014 FAFSA online at Home - FAFSA on the Web-Federal Student Aid as early as January 1, 2013. Drexel’s school code is 003256. Check back after February 2, 2013 to view your FAFSA status."

Is $24,500 over the course of 5 years, or $24,500 every year, or $24,500 just for one year (2013-2014)?

It’s per year. Read the first sentence of the award notice carefully.

Am I missing something how do you know it’s per year? What stands out to me is the 2013-2014 year so I thought it’s just for one year but usually scholarships don’t work like that

The AJ Drexel scholarship is automatically renewable scholarship granted every year as long as you have min. 3.0 GPA

The AJ Drexel scholarship is a renewable scholarship.

In other words, as long as you keep your grades up and you’re an undergraduate, you can get $24,500 every year.
