Drexel's Business and Engineering Major - Unique and Prestigious

Hi,Zackdudde
I am going to be a senior soon and thinking about college. I am very interested in chemical engineering and business,so I think B&E in Drexel fits me. My question is that if I get in this major, can I choose a specific field of engineering, like can I choose chemical engineering? another question is that what is the difference between two engineers majoring in B&E and regular Engineering? My third question is that I recently received an email from the dean of admission in Drexel, saying that they know some of my info from the collegeboard and offer me the Drexel VIP Application, applying through which is free.Does it mean they are interested in me or they just send it to almost everyone? thank you ; ]‘’.

University of Pennsylvania- same neighboruhood to Drexel- has an excellent Wharton Business and Engineering program. U Penn has some great engineering programs.

Hey Zackdudde,
I am currently enrolled as an Electrical Engineer at Drexel in the 5-year 3-coop option. Its coming up to the end of my Freshman Year and I’m beginning to think that such a specific concentration of engineering may not be the best for me. I have passed all my classes so far, so I have all the Freshman engineering requirements, but none of the business ones. I have also been able to handle the engineering coursework so far, so the amount of work I will need to put it is not really a factor to me.
To be completely honest, I am mostly in for the salary; I found engineering to be something I could learn to love. I know if I switch I will be able to catch up to my peers within a few terms, but I was wondering if the switch would be worth it? Forgive me if I’m not making myself very clear, I would just like to get advice from someone in the field as well as my peers and my academic advisor before I make the switch.

Thank you for any information you could provide!
