I’m a senior at high school right now, taking four AP courses out of the five offered at our school (I took Physics at the community college over the summer). I’m currently in AP Spanish, and because of the weak program at the school, I feel that I’m inadequately prepared for the class. I got a B the last semester, and am currently getting a C. I was wondering what the policy of notifying colleges was for dropping AP classes at the semester. I’m pretty sure that for academic courses (AP English, Gov’t, Physics, et al…) the teacher/counselor is supposed to let the college know that you have dropped the class, but what about elective-based courses such as AP Spanish? A prompt reply is appreciated. Thank you!

I think you should reconsider dropping. I am in AP Spanish also, for the second year, and I too am receiving a C. However, i was told by a student at the University of Michigan, where i will be attending, that the university prefers a C in a tough class, rather than you dropping it to save ur GPA.
