So, I've been accepting and I'm going and all that jazz, but I'm worried about whether or not I'll be able to continue playing drums. I live in Texas and I keep my kit in my room (in fact, it's directly behind me as I type this), so it's pretty safe to say that it's here to stay. Is there a public kit that students are allowed to use? I understand that there's a jazz band, so is that the drummer's personal kit? I guess what I want to know is how I could pursue my hobby while at college, and possibly start up a band of my own.
Thanks in advance!

I don’t really know the answer to your question and there are a lot more informed people on this board then me. If none of them post a definitive answer you might try contacting the following who is listed on Middlebury’s website for private lessons in drums;

Congratulations on your acceptance to Midd! Are you still interested in Chinese?

Hey Wumbo - Russ Lawton is an amazing resource at Middlebury College. He is the drummer for the Trey Anastasio Band and plays with many other regional and national musicians. He was recently featured in Modern Drummer magazine.
