Dual Degree Engineering Programs

D17 is interested in an engineering programs with option for a management / dual degree. We live in the Northeast and finances are not a concern. She has a 34C ACT and although school doesn’t rank is in the top 10% of a highly competitive private HS. EC and recommendations are great. She will have the option of going ED if she is able to identify her top school. She liked the IBE program at Leigh. Bucknell offers a 5 yrs dual degree in Engineering & Management which interested her. Northwestern has a Communication & Engineering dual program that we might look into.
She truly is a right brain / left brain thinker. Loves to write, create and make things but her favorite subject is physics.
What other schools should we add to our summer college visit list? She is not interested in engineering schools like RPI or RIT that have a more techie vibe. Likes the LAC feel to a school.

Does your D plan to work as an engineer after her degrees? My firm likes to hand pick engineers and help get their MBA. we don’t hire dual degrees right out of school. That’s just one data point to consider.

Some employers may see a second major in business as a disadvantage when hiring entry level engineers out of school, since the second major in business is seen as a signal that engineering is merely a stepping stone to management, rather than what one is interested in doing for a career.

What about MS&E at Stanford? Not a dual degree, but kind of a hybrid-type degree. Engineering core, heavy quant, some CS, some Econ, and some finance. Different tracks can be taken within the degree.

I think there is something similar at Princeton, but I can’t recall the name.
