Will Case Western allow me to get a dual degree in fields as different as say Comp Eng and Economics?

Thanks

You definitely can. That was one of the first questions I asked the admissions counselor. If I go there, I probably will do a dual major in accounting/theater.

That's Great! And will you be able to get both degrees without going over 4 years?

Scheduling dual degrees in different colleges of the university (such as engineering and arts&sciences) require a bit more planning to still be able to get out in 4 years because of the differences in core curricula. I believe that SAGES has alleviated some of these problems, but I'm still not sure how all of that works. If you are adamant about getting both degrees (rather than a major and a minor), seek out advice from faculty in both majors right away, and preferably before you schedule classes freshman year. They will likely be able to help you plan things out more than your assigned freshman year adviser. Feel free to contact faculty even before you decide whether you will attend Case, identify yourself as a prospective student, and ask whether they know of any students that have done dual degrees in those disciplines - I'd recommend contacting department chairs first.

Many students here do take advantage of the wide range of majors available. Dual degrees are not uncommon, but are slightly more difficult to pull off in engineering because of the sheer number of required courses.

Hmm
by dual degree, you mean a double major right?
double majors in really odd fields are definitely possible, but if you mean you want like, a BA in econ and a BS in Comp, there-in lies the problem...getting two actual separate degrees is often very difficult in 4 years at any school
