Ok.. I am planning to get back into school this coming Fall. I'm very much undecided as to which school(s) to attend. I, briefly, attended a community college a couple years ago. I still have a couple semesters to go, to complete my Associate degree.

I would like to attend the community college, to finish my degree - but, am anxious to start working on a Bachelor degree.

Another issue - the community college I attended does not offer student loans. So, a partial pell grant is the only assistance I receive as a student.

A specific university offers "dual enrollment" - which I am not really sure how this works.

From what I understand, I can get full financial aid through the university, and divide my credit hours between the two schools. (ie; 6 credits at the the University, and 6 credits at the community college) - Unfortunately, this specific university does not offer the degree I am seeking through it's distance learning program, so I wonder how common "Dual enrollment" is, and what my options may be.

So.. My questions..

1) What are the benefits of dual enrollment?

2) Any "negatives" associated with dual enrollment?

3) Do many colleges/universities offer dual enrollment as an option, or is this looked down upon?
