Dual Majoring in CoE

For Dual Major do you absolutely have to take every single class of both majors (those that don't overlap off course) or can you skip one or two perhaps?

This may be perhaps a very obvious question, but in graduation if you dual majored you get 2 different diplomas right? What about Joint Majors?

What is the average GPA for dual major applying into BioE (Biomechanics) when you are already in CoE (CEE)?

I'm a freshmen to be and I can't go to CalSO so I won't have any adivsor until fall but is there any other online resource (I've looked and haven't find a lot) or maybe someone that can asses me that has similar previous experiece from dual majoring either in CEE or BioE (especially Biomechanics). Feel free to pm if you have previous knowledge and are willing to help me. I have already done a sketch of my four-year plan including summers. But for example do I need to take all 4 of the Elective Cores in CEE or can I maybe do 2 or 3.

Thank you very much for your time in advance.

Yes, but you might be able to petition to substitute some of the requirements. However, there is a limit to how many upper division courses that can count for multiple majors (2?). You can sub in lots of lower divs, though (e.g. EE40 counting as a tech elective for both, but EE120 could not if you already had two other upper divs counting towards a requirement for both majors)

Not sure. I know someone who did L/S and CoE, don’t think he got two physical diplomas. does it even say your major on it? it might be on transcript only. don’t know for sure though.

doubt this information is out there due to the small number of people who do that. as long as you do well in lower div CoE stuff (math, phys, chem) you should be fine (i.e. demonstrate that you can handle 4-5 difficult courses and get mostly a’s and some b’s).

i don’t know of a single cee/bioe double, sorry. lots of mse joint majors though. don’t worry too much about it yet - most like all the courses in your first year will be stuff that counts toward any coe major.
