Dublin v. Edinburgh

I'm sorry to post this here but I did see the thread about sending kids abroad in this forum. Has anyone sent their children to Dublin to study for a year? Anyone studied at Trinity College, Dublin? If so, How was their experience? If I could ask the same of parents who have sent their children to study in Edinburgh, that would be fantastic.

Thanks,
Fred

One of my best friends went to grad school at Trinity--and did her undergrad at Edinburgh.

Both are great schools. I happen to think Dublin is a great college town--and my friend loved the uni culture at Trinity.

Try posting this on the Intl Students thread. There are UK school experts on that forum.

D did a summer abroad program a few years back that spent time (few weeks each) in Dublin and Edinburgh. While she loved Dublin she LOVED Edinburgh ...a big surprise....excellent culture, was there during the Fringe Festival.Lots of international college kids, wonderful city to navigate.Loved the old city..new city (in itself ancient) aspect. Not as business and industrially oriented as Dublin. She'd go back in aheartbeat.

Tinity College in Dublin is probably a "better" school than the University of Edinburgh, but that doesn't matter all that much, especially in terms of study abroad. Both cities are great for college aged students. The University of Edinburgh is a huge school, and there are tons of college students around the city. As Cathymee said, Edinburgh has kept a lot of its old flavor, whereas Dublin has moved much faster toward being a business city. They would both be excellent.
