I am interested in applying to Duke for BME. How hard is the program? Is it still possible to have a social life and maintain a good gpa? Does anyone know the average gpa? (I am not looking to get into med school by the way. I just want to know if it is possible to do well.)

On another note, what are the pros and cons of Duke?

Duke has what is widely recognized as the #2 BME program in the country (the first being Johns Hopkins). Engineering in general at Duke is very demanding, and a fair number of students choose to transfer to Trinity (arts + sciences college) at some point, but it is possible to have a social life, maintain a good GPA, and even spend a semester abroad as an engineering student. You’ll have to work hard and manage your time well, but if you have a decent work ethic, you should be fine.
