Duke Economics/Finance or Cornell AEM

Please help me make ED decision about going to Duke for economics / finance concentration or Cornell AEM. Your comments/advice are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Can you post more information about yourself/dilemma? It is hard to help without much insight

Go with the least expensive. If costs are even then go with Duke.

I’d recommend that you choose the institution that you think you’d enjoy more and has a better “fit” for your personality and interests. The differences in career opportunities that these two programs will provide are negligible – by far the larger factor in your decision should be where YOU think you should go. Where do you see yourself? I think that will make a far bigger impact in the long-term and will set you up for success.

Having been debating for several days, the decision is leaning towards Duke. Thanks for all your inputs. Good Luck to everyone.

Definitely go with Cornell. Wonderful applied economics program

^^apparently the above poster is applying to Duke ED, so keep that in mind.

Haha, thanks for the support @oliversmithies‌ ! Just trying to eliminate the competition. Same intended major, and similar stats (I would presume), please don’t be so quick to judge me based on that one comment… In all seriousness I hope we both get accepted. I think the harsh judgement of my character AND the ill-wished additional comment hoping that I do not get accepted into my dream school was rather rude considering I am an Eagle Scout among many other things, not the least of which is that you have no idea who I am as a human being.

@ellisnp‌: Perhaps you’re a wonderful and ethical young man, but I can certainly understand how people might reasonably feel otherwise, based on your post (#6). Please consider that words count, and yours clearly suggested that you were attempting to dissuade an admissions competitor from apply to Duke. Since you’re an Eagle Scout (I was one, too, many decades ago), you just might want to analyze how what you said in #6 reconciles with the Scout’s Law (was it trustworthy, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, . . . ?).

Well taken, I apologize to CaptainAL. Hope to see you at Duke next fall

^ ^ ^ ^ Nice.

@ellisnp - maybe apologize in the other thread where you wrote “I would definitely recommend not doing ED. With your scores and ECs you will probably get into all these schools RD” and everyone else thought the OP was a stretch across the board. :-S
