Duke ED 2025

Considering the conditions of last year’s AP exams, though, I think that a 3 wouldn’t really put you at a disadvantage. If anything, I think they’d care about your grades in your AP classes last year more than your AP scores.

it’s getting closer!!

By the way, I requested interview and did not get an invitation. I am wondering if this is because I am international and have an 8 h difference with NC, or for some other reason…, Can I get disadvantaged because of not having interview?

i requested one and i’m literally from nc! from what i’ve read i believe it’s based on availability of alumni in ur area, and if u don’t get one then it’s not a huge deal

edit: i forgot to mention i didn’t actually receive one. i’m from the westernmost point of the state and no alumni interviewers live locally

did you guys submit an extra LOR if you did not get an interview?

I think it’s mostly luck of the draw to get an interview - based on your location, if there are alumni available to interview you in your location, etc. so I would not be surprised if the reason you didn’t get an interview is because you are international - so I wouldn’t worry about it! I don’t believe they interview based at all on strength of application. Also, during my interview, I was told by my interviewer that it’s the most minor piece of the application and has almost no bearing on whether you get in or not

yes i did!

hey, so I’m an international and requested an interview but wasn’t really expecting one. I ended up getting an interview (though the scheduling was difficult as the interviewer was in the US and I’m 9 hours ahead) but from what I know, the interview is subject to the availability of alumni and doesn’t have a significant impact on the application so I don’t think not getting one is that big of a deal.

also not sure if this was the case for the others that got an interview but my interviewer had told me beforehand that it was mainly for me to ask her about any questions I had and for her to get to know me as well, which is why I’m guessing that it doesn’t have much of an impact on your application.

You’re absolutely right. I’ve realised that the interview is more for us than it is for them, as it is a chance to meet an alumni and ask them any questions you might have. I’m international too, and mine was super informal.

For people that applied through Common App, does your guys’ Parent ED Agreement say “Submitted” or “Downloaded?”

submitted, oh no

Downloaded. It even appeared on my Duke Checklist as “received” I think

Are you sure because everyone says that it stays submitted. It said received on my checklist too, but my common app says submitted still. I hope this doesn’t mean anything. The people on reddit said it’s inconsistent with decisions.

I don’t think it’s an actual predictor. A majority of people say that some people get admitted but for some reason their Common App never says downloaded.

Yeah I was looking at reddit and saw that people who have theirs as submitted still get into places so I don’t think it means anything at all

I am pretty sure is it inconsistent! I submitted application really early, so maybe this is why

There have also been threads on this going back to 2013 so I’m sure if it meant anything it would have been fixed by now.

has anyone tried logging in to the duke admitted students website page, it just redirected to the decision date smh
