The e-mail my daughter received from Duke notifying her that ED results would be available at 6:00 EST on the 14th suggested she “separate herself from her peers” when she gets her results. She’s freaking out that it means bad news. I told her I suspected everyone was given the same advice in their e-mail.

Saw the post about saying to separate yourself…it doesn’t mean anything, all the emails look the same way. I got in ED to Duke last year and received the same email. Good luck guys!!

While I am excited that we are finding out next Wednesday, I had a difficult day at school because I was given the heartbreaking news of another shooting at Virginia Tech. My family is all Hokie, and I was raised a Hokie, despit my first choice school being Duke. Please extend prayers out to Blacksburg, and be thankful that alerts prevented a worse situation. Today we are all Hokies. <3 VT

hellloo2,
The exact wording of my email is this:

“If you decide to check your decision online, we strongly encourage you to do so in the privacy of your own home, not at school. We believe your decision is a private matter, and for many reasons we have found it is best for applicants to be away from friends and classmates when they check their decisions.”
