I got in Brown and Duke.I wanna major in Computer science and Econ. Can you give me some unbiased opinion? Which one shall I go?

Did you post this on the HARVARD board to get unbiased info?

yes, i think (s)he did. What exactly is the problem, HH05? lmao

Plus, Harvard people know everything.

riiiiight....... :)

Both offer combined programs in cs and econ. The cs departments are comparable in size. Brown's is more highly regarded, but I don't know whether the difference is enough to matter, particularly for an undergraduate.

The major differences are obvious. Duke has extensive distribution requirements. These both limit the number of cs courses one could take, and are so complicated that they construct elaborate systems just to help students figure out where they stand. Brown has no distribution requirements, and the ScB degree requires more cs and math courses.

Of course Duke is in the south, Brown is in New England. Duke is sports-oriented and more conservative. Sports are a low priority at Brown, and it is more liberal. Duke's bad weather is hot and humid, Brown's bad weather is cold and snowy.
