Im not sure which would be a better experience for an economics major. If anyone had any pros or cons to either school I would appreciate it. I’m not trying to answer any essay question I’m just looking for people’s insight. Thanks.
I don’t think they’re comparable. Michigan is a much bigger school that is tasked with providing an accessible education to residents of the state of Michigan. Duke is an elite private university.
It is very possible that you will be admitted to Michigan but receive a rejection from Duke.
The opposite is also true, as Michigan as a state school tends to focus more on pure numbers, and has stricter cutoffs, whereas Duke will probably take a more holistic approach.
From the perspective of which one you would prefer, they are very different experiences, so that shouldn’t be too hard to figure out.
