Duke or Penn?

Which school is stronger in your mind with regard to prestige, quality of academics, selectivity, and career/graduate school opportunities? I'm not looking for each of the four criteria individually but rather an overall assesment. Also, do not seperate them based on different schools like Pratt (Engineering) at Duke or Wharton at Penn or Nursing at Penn, etc. As ONE undergraduate institution, which one do you think is better?

Too subjective to answer...

Seems like a strange question to me. Both are great.

Again, too subjective to answer, too many variables such as geographics, demographics, administration, school histories, curriculum, athletics, GPAs, admission rates (also complete BS), grad school admission rates...

You expect me to answer this question? Okay, I think Penn is better, but only because I read "I Am Charlotte Simmons" and am decidedly, vehemently against Duke.

I meditated this question a bit, and realized, if you want a truthful answer to your question, you must:

1.) Find someone who is like you in every single way, except not like you, to attend both schools, unknowingly
2.) Have same person keep a log of their time at both schools
3.) Collect logs and compare

As one undergraduate institution "Penn".

Equal. Very different, but equal.

Decide which fits you better, not which is "better" on some nebulous scale of greatness.
