Duke Programs in Bio Chem or the Arts?

I am trying to write my Why Duke supplement for ED and upon initial research on their website it seems like they have a strong focus in the arts. But on forums people are saying they really dont have a strong visual arts program which is what I wanted to minor in. I don’t know where to get accurate information from anymore bc it seems like all college websites boast about their programs and I dont want my supplement to reflect that I dont have a strong understanding of the college.

I am majoring in biology/chemistry because I want to go into pharmacy as of now but I also want to continue my passion in art production in college. I was hoping Duke would be good for that and finding a lot of other people who share my interests since they emphasize how it is fundamental to a rich and comprehensive education, but now I’m not so sure that it will meet my expectations. Also their pamphlets were really aesthetic and they seem very liberal tumblr sjw which is also why I thought I would fit in there lol.

Can someone who goes there/knows someone who does give me an honest answer about what their biology, chemistry, and visual arts (minor) programs are like, how good they are, and if duke ACTUALLY places a strong emphasis on the arts.

Duke definitely has a rising arts program. I don’t know how much emphasis is on visual vs other arts. Check out the website.

I think admissions is hosting an arts and humanities weekend soon on campus.

But I noticed that you want to go into pharmacy. Note that Duke does not have a pharmacy degree.

I don’t go to Duke and can’t answer your question, but you should check out the Media Arts + Sciences program:

I’m not sure about pharmacy so right now I just want to major in biology/chemistry and if I’m still into pharmacy, attend grad school for that
