any thoughts on these 3 different courses for summer?
So, I was a Duke Tip student for the past two summers, and hoping to go back again this year for Electrical Engineering at Duke West. I was at Tech for summer 2018, though I was not in any of those courses, I do know several people that were in the Pathogens, Plague, and Patient Zero class as well as the Anatomy & Medical Ethics class. I sadly don’t know anyone that was in the Where Great Minds and Big Money Meet class. I know that the people in the Pathogens course had lots of field trips, the visited several places related to the course during the term. Also, Pathogens had a campus wide experiment called Tipfluenza where they studied the passing of several diseases among a group of people, I participated in that and it was really fun. I also know that Anatomy & Medical Ethics had many labs, so if your interested in such that might be a good course for you.
Overall, no matter which one you go to, I stay on the engineering type courses, the camp is a really great and fun, it allows you to meet people that you wouldn’t have otherwise, learn things that are way beyond what you are learning in school, one of the classes were literally learning rocket science, and just have fun. There is a caveat to the having fun part though, you actually have to participate in order to have fun, I know some kids that went but didn’t end up having fun in the residential part of things because they just didn’t want to do things or have fun at the activities.
Anyway, that was me both answering your question (partially) and telling you about the camp, If you determine it’s right for you, I hope you will be at one of the campuses this summer.
@caesarsalad could you tell me more about the camp? what is the daily schedule like, and is it competitive/hard to get into?
