S #1 chose Duke over Cornell. Both are wonderful schools, so congrats. S picked Duke because of Cornell's colder climate and more remote location. Okay, Duke basketball was one factor, too.

Like you, S plans to head to Wall Street, and Duke has a well-established pipeline to there. I can't speak to Cornell.

Of course, Cornell is Ivy League and Duke is not, so if that moniker is important to you...

yeah but the duke = wallstreet connection is really good

its a fact that duke is a better school than cornell for wall street when you look at the recruitment numbers of top firms.

Duke is better than Cornell.

Next question, please.

I'm liking the post above...plus if you ask me, Cornell is a very isolated and dreary place to spend 4 years of your life

Dry cleaner, apple salesman? clothier? maybe a deli man? what is it you all want to do on Wallstreet? Broaden your area of study to open up the possiblity of many different carreers. Remember there are likely a lot of people who have likely lost their job who have a lot of real world experience that would give them an edge for any jobs that are open. Call your friends on wallstreet and remember it may be a few years before th economy comes back. Duke has a lot of great programs and is tops for Medicine...so think geometrically with your future.

Duke is a better choice than Cornell by far.
Duke is on the same tier as Dartmouth.
Cornell is more in line with Johns Hopkins and Georgetown.

I wouldn't say "by far". Cornell's probably a peer of Duke academically. Socially, we kill anything that Cornell has to offer though.

nah, Duke is above Cornell...by quite a bit! Especially win it comes to Wall St. placement.
