Anyone familiar with the "Engineering and Technology Innovation Management" masters program with regard to quality of the program or value of the degree? ~Thanks!

Extension of the HCI undergrad program?

It seems to be a combination of engineering MS with business classes and a summer internship. Students don't, however, get an MBA. It appears to be oriented towards those wanting a managerial or an entrepreneurial role in a technical company. I wonder if the program is well-recognized (it seems like a great idea) or if it would be better to get the traditional MS + MBA.

DS has gotten some project management experience from his past internships and buggy and senior projects. He has acquired some 'business' experience from practical ojt work experience to meet deadlines and budget parameters.

We are encouraging S to take some basic accounting and other fundemental business courses after he gets situated in a city and career situation. We felt that $900/credit (whatever CMU's going rate) is a bit much for something he could learn at a local college or CC.

One of his undergrad internships was just boring and jobs quickly accomplished. He continually pestered the heck of his supervisor to get more work, even though this large and well known company wanted someone from CMU and knew of CMU's reputation.

If it is what you describe, sound like a good idea.
