My daughter also received an email from Admissions recently. It was an encouraging email that seemed especially personalized in the second paragraph. This only reenforces my daughter’s initial impression of Clark–that it’s the friendliest campus she has visited. It’s a nice touch to reach out and provide positive feedback during this excruciating waiting phase.

My daughter got an encouraging e-mail as well yesterday, although she put no stock in it. I guess she gets bombarded by more generic emails from the schools she’s showed interest in. But she loved the personal feel of the email from the Clark regional admissions rep.

Geez so I thought I got a likely letter, but seems everyone has gotten one as well xD

What can this possibly mean? I am pretty sure this is atleast something special since the message was very personalized and talked about specifics in my application, maybe the admissions office was instructed to send these short personalized notes to applicants they deem promising as a form of encouragement?

My D’s email didn’t have any specifics about her transcript-- it was just a friendly and welcoming email that the admissions rep had seen her application and was happy that she was applying to Clark and they’d be in touch soon. Not as specific as what you heard-- but your stats sound tippy-top for Clark, so they’re probably going to really woo you.

Thanks for that, she mentioned my commitment to music and asked whether I would be able to visit Clark to check out the school should I be accepted. Btw how did you know about my stats? :)

Be prepared…Clark is all about the wooing! :)

Especially if you’re invited to come interview for one of the scholarship programs…they treat you so well, and everything is very personalized and welcoming. I got an invitation to interview for a $64000 scholarship, and the attention I got that day made me call my mom and say, “Sooo…I really want to go to Clark now.” And I didn’t even end up getting the scholarship! (I got a $48000 one instead…Clark is very liberal with their scholarships!)

trisprefect, did you accept the scholarship? Are you a student at Clark now?

i also applied ea, and i had a question about the decision. iv been researching everywhere, and some places it says mid-december, and some places it says december 20th… does anyone know which is correct? and how do u find out? is there a log in username to use which says if your admitted or not?

My D is worried because she saw on the site something about notifications on 12/20, and we will be skiing then… she is so anxious for this letter. But we’re only gone for three days, and my husband is staying home, so if the letter comes and she allows it, he can open it for her… or keep it on the kitchen counter…

It would be great if it was a few days earlier than that. Either way, it’s soon.

@ researching4emb - I remember when I was 16 and waiting exam results, which came while we were on holiday in France! The last 3 or 4 days I was grumpy with everyone, haha.
I was like - every 16 year old in the country has their results except me! (whinewhinewhine)

(They are GCSEs exams at 16, which help to determine my A level exam results at 18, which determine one’s university)

^^^^^^^^^^^^
how many years ago was that? We all get our GCSE results online now :)

But something went wrong with the results page this year though, my center said it’s probably because they were half a dozen suicides that officials thought derived from seeing their results on their own and not with a teacher.

can someone answer my question please… are they mailed or what?

i as well applied EA and got the same e-mail saying they liked my application. i called clark and they said they wouldn’t tell me the release date? it was strange.

Any word yet on when the letters go out? I have an anxious girl!

everyone needs to calm down. you’ll find out when you find out.

campus is crazy right now. we are in the middle of finals.

I called the admissions office. All letters get mailed on Monday the 20th. So given the holiday mail slowness, most people should hear by Christmas eve.

My D was relieved to not have to hound the mail for a few days.

I checked on this last week with Don Honeman, dean of Admissions. Students will be notified about their merit aid at the same time they receive Early Action decisions—the week of December 20th. I hope this helps! Good luck!

do we get an email telling us our decision or are we just waiting soely on a letter on the mail?

The website says they notify only by snail mail, not email.

wait…

for international students too? By the time snail mail comes here it will probably be February! xD
