Eagle Scout = admit hook?

I’m glad DS has more to his life than impressing college admissions committees.

Thanks to everyone else!

Cheers to your son’s accomplishment sylvan8798!

Any activity that a student shows a long term commitment to is a great asset to anyone’s application. More than that is the personal satisfaction, dedication, and finally reaching a goal he set long ago. He should be very, very proud!

My son felt much the same way after earning his black belt in Tae Kwon Do. A different experience to be sure, however it took many years of commitment, respect for himself and instructors, leadership, and mental and physical stamina. He is very proud of this as well.

Such long term, self instituted goals should be commended, regardless of any impact on college admissions.

Congratulations to you as well. No student gets there without his or her parents support! :)

Congrats to your S!
