With the admissions office having 9K less applications to review, does anyone believe well be getting notifications earlier this year? A review of prior years threads show some applicants seeing changes to their agora portal starting around March 17.

I don’t know about earlier… but check out this paragraph

“The decision, which Admission Director John Mahoney Jr. describes as an attempt to right-size BCs applicant pool after a decade of steady increases, has resulted in 25,000 applicants for the 2,270 seats in the incoming class of 2017, a pool that Mahoney describes as serious applicants who are well matched for Boston College.”

from [this article](http://www.bc.edu/content/bc/publications/chronicle/FeaturesNewsTopstories/2013/top-stories/applications013013.html).

Are there TRULY 25,000 applicants this year for “2,270 seats?” So only 9% of all applicants actually go to BC?

Oh wait. The yield is slightly suckish right? Okay, I gave myself a huge fright and now I feel… ahem. dumb.

Their yield typically hovers around 24-25%. I don’t know if they doing anything different in their review of applications (which are less than previous years) to produce a yield that will give them around the same class size. I guess we will see.

I was admitted to BC early action for the Class of 2017. It is my first (realistic) choice and will be attending unless I am fortunate enough to be able to consider one of my reaches. Even in that case, it is still likely I will be at BC next year. Good luck, RD applicants!

patience, young one
