Early Action and Merit Aid?

I got a promotional email from Purdue a few days ago that said if you applied early action, you would be considered for merit aid. Does this mean that you are only considered for merit aid if you apply early action?

Yes. https://www.admissions.purdue.edu/costsandfinaid/scholarships.php

" automatically considered" if you apply EA. But is regular decision also considered?

When my daughter applied, we were told to apply EA if you were looking for merit. Purdue does not give out much in terms of merit to start with.

You also can’t be considered for Honors College unless you meet the EA deadline.

This is from the college of engineering website: To be eligible for any merit-based award you must have your completed application submitted prior to November 1, along with all of your application materials. We highly recommend that all students complete the FAFSA, as some merit based funding is contingent upon having it completed.

Ok, thank you for the clarification.

You have to also complete the supplemental scholarship questions (which are essentially the same as on the Common app–really silly here).
