Early Action - Class of 2019

Congrats you people! Waiting now on EA II decisions.

S1 accepted. I am glad to see WPI has begun notifying about scholarships. @FSSDAD: Congratulations to your D on her merit award. Did you receive the news via e-mail or mail?

Has anyone heard about the financial aid package and/or merit awards? Does WPI release those info on a rolling basis or is there a specific date?

My daughter received a merit award via snail mail yesterday.

The acceptance notification made it sound like awards are done on a rolling basis.

@FCCDAD Can you post your D’s stats please?

I have before, but here they are again:
3.82 UW, 4.82 W, all Honors and AP with upward trend
790M 700CR 780WR
standard ECs

@VMT‌ Does the school also notify via email? I read the website which says that the awards will be notified via both mail and email.

She did not receive anything by email. Nothing on the portal. Just regular mail.

Son received snail mail scholarship award yesterday. Presidential scholarship 15K/year. Stats:
SAT 2270 (CR 780, M 770, W 720)
SAT II Biology (M) 710, Math I 740, Math II 800
GPA: 4.0 unweighted, 4.39 weighted

I received snail mail Presidential scholarship award today, 22k/year

How about financial aid package? Has anyone heard from WPI about finaid yet?

Son received notification of scholarship award via postal mail yesterday. Presidential scholarship of 25k/year. Nothing about financial aid yet. We only sent CSS profile one week ago.

Not attending, but I received two scholarships from WPI. Presidential scholarship for $11.5k/year and WPI Scholarship for $14k/year.

34 ACT (34 E, 35 M, 35 R, 33 S)
750 Math I
740 Math II
730 Bio M

My portal account was updated with the decision and merit letter.

So need based aid amount comes out later? The letter only tells me merit.

Needs based comes out after you submit the CSS and FAFSA.

Some pretty amazing stats here, congratulations to all!

It seems like most of the high achievers will be attending WPI, or is the jury still out?

(please have a Honeydew donut for me if your DC does go!)

The jury is still out. Need-based FA would be necessary ($40k/yr out of pocket is too much for us), and we have no decisions yet from any other college.

@veggylover & @micmatt513 congrats! @veggylover what were your stats? Mine are 33 ACT and 3.8 GPA. I can’t attend without merit and financial aid so hoping I’ll get something…

My son’s stats are 2400 SAT, 800 Math II and 800 Physics, 4.0 UW GPA, #1 in grade with good ECs. The jury is still out as far as attending. Unfortunately, my vehicle broke down while visiting MIT and Northeastern last Fall, so we never got to visit WPI. We may visit if their financial aid offer is quite good. Good luck to you @univin2015 for acceptable merit and FA.
