@bluedevilalumni my DS16 is attends the Honors College and my DS19 will be attending CofC in the Fall. I’m sorry that I can’t even speculate about the wait list. I know last year , they had over 1500 applicants and I speculate even more this year. It is a wonderful program, but I feel like you son will have a great experience even if he does not get off the wait list. There is also an option where he can apply at the end of his freshman year if there is space available. What will your son be majoring in?
@carolinamom2boys thank you so much. Agreed- we have been to the campus twice over the past year and I have been extremely impressed with the school. We are from NC and obviously had great school options but I think both my son and I knew from the first visit, CofC was the place God intended him to be ? He will be double majoring in Political Science and History with a minor in crime, law, and society.
Received the big envelope today.
Awesome! Haven’t seen ours yet in VA.
I got waitlisted from the honors college last week. I was kind of surprised, but I recognize that it was a large applicant pool.

Just booked a train ride (many hours) for our Accepted Students Day Trip in March. First time on long trip train. And booked dinner at the Charleston Crab House. Gonna be a lot of fun. Wish I had hotel points to stay longer. Need at least another day to tour the area. Love Charleston.
Is accepted students day mandatory? We just toured CofC a few weeks ago. I noticed that there are local Admitted students regional receptions. Is that the same thing? Just locally?
@seaside30a No,.it’s not mandatory. Orientation is.
