Early action deferral

CWRU is no longer free to apply.

They sent us notification of a waiver. It was free.

In fact, I am quite surprised by the increased number of applicants this year.

@vonlost ok contract was the wrong word (I’m not a lawyer) but my point was that telling them in an email that you will attend if accepted is not binding the way the signed pledge, agreement, whatever you want to call it is.

That said, my S is a recruited athlete at a D3 school. He told me that when he spoke to the coach this week another athlete they were recruiting was accepted ED but apparently applied ED to another school as well and was enrolling there. The coach was none too happy. No I don’t know how he got away with it.

It’s up to his guidance counselor at high school to not allow him to apply early decision to more than one school. The college may not be able to punish the student, but the guidance counselor may ruin chances for further students from his school to be trusted.

My D was accepted early to Case in her year, but when the FA package came I honestly wondered why they bothered. It and BU were by far the worst FA offers she got.
