The only thing is... that they say that I have to send in a $500 deposit by January 22nd, 2007 (in other words, five days from now, one year ago)...

I assume they meant 2008, but I think that it's ridiculous that they want me to commit to the school before I even hear from my other choices.. There's a reason I didn't apply ED.

There would definitely be a very good chance I would go to Bentley if I could get a chance to simply see the campus first! Ahh... I mean.. really am extremely happy to have been offered this scholarship, but I just wish I had more time.

And yeah taxguy, I agree with you... I was actually expecting a 1/3 scholarship, if anything.

I had a 5 on the AP Calculus AB exam and a 4 on the AP English Language and Composition exam. I'm taking AP Calculus BC this year as well as AP Chemistry, and I'm going to take the AP Statistics test but my stats class wasn't AP.

If I do end up at Bentley, walking in with 5 AP credits is going to be awesome.

Pretty good essay, pretty good recommendations

I also received the one-third tuition presidential scholarship (though I apparently must send in a $500 enrollment deposit by January 22, two thousand SEVEN if I want to keep it)

I was actually surprised that I got in because I had no extracurriculars, work experience, or community service.

But why haven't you considered other top schools around the area? Bentley is a great school, but I think you have the potential to get into better ones.

You and I were offered the same scholarship, but it seems that you would probably be more appealing to colleges..

I am a freshman currently at Bentley and I also got 1/2 tuition scholarship. From almost everyone I have talked to there is not a single person I know who has a full tuition scholarship. I have heard second hand that someone knows someone else who told them that they know someone who has a full tuition scholarship but I doubt that is true. Most people I know either have 1/3 or 1/2. Edit: That is most people I know in the Honors Program and just other people in general.

What stats do you need to be in the honors program? I wouldn't expect to be in the honors program, but I was offered a 1/2 scholarship, so that could help me... possibly?

I think they look at your grades and SATs and take into consideration your other stuff and whoever is in the top 10% of the accepted students is offered acceptance into the honors program. You get the letter later on after they look at all the RD applications. If you got 1/2 scholarship I think you are definitely going to get into the honors program.

On a side note, I had the Director of the Honors Program as a professor last semester and he was awesome. I recommend Professor Greg Hall for anyone of you who decide to come to Bentley.

"But why haven't you considered other top schools around the area? Bentley is a great school, but I think you have the potential to get into better ones."

Sure, I could get into at least a few of the top 25 in the country. But I don't really need to go to a top-ranked school; Bentley's business program is one of the best in New England.

well that bites that theres basically no full tuition ones cause thats what i was hopin for. Even with 1/2 tuition, its gotta still be near 30 grand.

I have both emailed and called the admissions office on 2 separate occassions with questions. They could not have been more receptive and more than happy to answer any question you have. In fact, I was informed that they would prefer to answer your questions themselves instead of getting wrong information or wondering.
