<p>What those numbers don't tell you is how many apply EA and are deferred, then accepted RD. If one factors in those students, the rate of acceptance of all students who applied EA goes up. And likewise, the % of students accepted who actually apply RD goes down. I have seen analyses where schools who have an over all acceptance rate of under 10% have about a 24% acceptance rate for all EA or ED applicants, and a true RD acceptance rate of about 6%. Applying early seems to be a big plus.</p>
