Early Admissions

Okay, long story short, I have been a Dual Enrollment student since my freshman year of high school - meaning that I have been both a high school and college student for the entirety of my high school career. I am now ending my junior year of high school and will begin my "senior year" in August. BUT, I have already fulfilled all of my high school graduation requirements, so it has been determined that I should continue being a college student through "Early Admissions" at the college that I have been attending. I will be a full-time student there starting in August up until May of 2012. I have a few questions:

Are colleges (such a University of South Florida, University of Florida, etc..) impressed by a student who has graduated with their high school diploma and Associate of Arts degree simultaneously?

Are colleges impressed by Dual Enrolled students at all? Does it effect my chances of being accepted?

Do colleges look down on Early Admission students, or is this also an impressive aspect to them?

I am going to be an Early Admission student, regardless of any answers I receive - I have already applied. I have hated high school the entire time I have been enrolled in it and have worked hard to be able to spend my senior year in the college environment. I would love to get some answers to these questions, though. :) I've just been wondering about them. Thanks in advance!

I was a dual enrollment student that got my AA and HS diploma together and UF admitted me and several other DE students I know, though I didn’t attend. They will take the two years of credits, so that’s very helpful.

If it is the most challenging course load offered by your school, then yes. I was a full-time DE student and got into Notre Dame, and interviewers from other schools said that it was impressive and helped me stand out.

I don’t imagine they would, though I’m not entirely sure what you mean by “Early Admission.” Are you still a dual enrollment student, or will you graduate high school before applying to colleges? If you remain a HS-AA enrolled student, then I don’t think it could hurt you (though I’m sure there are some schools unfamiliar with such programs), but if you graduated HS early to go to a CC, then you would have to be a transfer student, which could hurt.

By Early Admissions, I mean that I will still be technically enrolled in my high school, but I will not attend any classes there. I will attend the college full-time, but still graduate with my high school class (2012). Did that make any sense? Haha!
