Early Assurance programs in Med School

Hi,
Just came to know about Early Assurance Medical Programs, Any input is appreciated.
Are there some in Texas also?

AFAIK, there are none in Texas.

These EAPs are open to students at any undergraduate college–
University of Toledo Medstart Program
ICahn School of Medicine Flex Med Program at Mt. Sinai
University of Florida Junior Honors Program
SUNY Upstate EAP, and the SUNY Buffalo EAP.

Most early assurance programs are limited to students attending the undergraduate associated with the med school or a small number of partner colleges.

Thank you so much!

Some schools will not have a program called EAP, they will make up a name to admit students in their college to their medical school directly. Those programs are hidden deep in their course descriptions or admission details and tended to pick only a very few out of several hundred pre-meds. You have to be the top student to have that honor and it won’t be easy.

@EducatorAT - there is the Rice / Baylor Medical Scholars program https://futureowls.rice.edu/futureowls/Rice_Baylor_FAQ.asp.

There is a thread on CC that discusses just the BSMD programs. You may want to check it out and post your question there for better response from vets in this area (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/20620500/#Comment_20620500)

@MedSciBud

Early assurance programs are not the same thing as BA/MD programs. programs.

Early assurance programs admit students already in college, typically at the end of their sophomore year.

The Rice/Baylor program admits students from high school. The OP’s daughter is already a college freshman and therefore is ineligible to apply to the Rice/Baylor program

@WayOutWestMom - thank you. Learned something new today!

The early assurance program at the Brody School of Medicine accepts high school seniors. First, they must qualify and apply to the honors college at ECU. If accepted to the honors college, they may apply for early assurance. If they are a finalist for early assurance, they are invited to interview.

Thanks for all the info guys; much appreciated.
