Early Decision 1 or 2?

Hi, I really want to apply to Emory this year but my stats are a bit low UW 3.5-3.6 and SAT 2100.
Therefore, I'm thinking of applying ED. Is it more difficult to get in ED2? I'm going to take the SATs again so I want some time but is ED1 easier? Do more ppl get in?

Just keep in mind that any ED at any school is binding. Be sure Emory is your #1 choice. Additionally, you will not know what your financial package is before you are committed to attend. There are ways out if you demonstarate that you can’t afford what they offer, but that is not a road you want to go down. I don’t want to discourage you from applying ED just want to make sure you are fully infomed. Emory is a great school.

Is Emory your number 1 choice? Is there another school you would much rather go to?

The reason I am asking is because if there is another school that you like better, I would EDI there, and if it doesn’t work out, I would EDII at Emory. Thats what my roommate freshman year did.

so can I apply for early decision at a school where it only has one Early Decision deadline like Penn, then if I get deferred or denied, apply for Emory ED2?

Thats correct, Emory’s EDII is intended to target students who have Emory as their 2nd choice school but were denied/deferred at their 1st choice school during the normal ED round. Of course you’ll never hear this from an admissions representative…
