Ok here it is, 8 more days until EDI's come out. Anyone else really nervous? Anyone else counting down the days? Our family is holding our breaths for the next 8 days. I will have a countdown everyday until we find out. Good luck to all those who applied EDI!

I'm so nervous! I'm dying to know if I got in. Skidmore is exactly what I was looking for in a school, and if I just don't love my other choices. Also, if I get rejected from Skidmore, I'll probably have to rewrite my college list anyway, because I doubt I'd be able to get into much of anywhere else on my list if I can't get in there.

7 more days. Next Saturday will change many lives. There is no status checker at the school's website so the decision will have to come in the mail. Good luck to all!

I talked to the office and they said that letters will be mailed on the 13th, so some people might get it on the 14th and some will get it on the 15th I guess, depending on what part of the country you are in.

nervous

Thanks - that is good to know. We will be watching the mail later in the week. Good luck - I hope you get in!

Thanks. To your family as well!

6 more days. It is going to be a very long week! I asked my son why he didn't seem nervous and he shrugged his shoulders. He then got very quiet for awhile. He looked at me after about five minutes and told me he really likes Skidmore. I was thinking about his reaction and realized that for most kids his age, this is the first time a major rejection may occur. While we visited many colleges, there was just something different at Skidmore. There was almost a cockiness (not bad) by everyone there that this was as good a college as there is in the country. Everyone we talked to just loved it there. I can honestly say that I have never seen a bigger smile on his face than after getting interviewed at Skidmore. Everything just seemed to click. I do hope he gets the chance to go there, although, there is a reason for everything. Good luck all!

I had the same feeling about Skidmore. I was totally over the whole college search thing, and when my dad wanted to make me do one more unscheduled stop at Skidmore I was ready to tie him up, throw him in the back seat and steal the keys. It was a 10 hour drive home, and it was POURING rain. Did the tour anyway though (in the pouring rain) and realized after about 3 minutes that it was the place for me. It has a totally different atmosphere than any other school I visited.

I'm going away for a few days for my sports stuff and won't be back until late on Saturday night. If my letter comes on Friday I'll be torn between letting the parents open it (possibly that much more likely to keep me from speeding home on saturday) and finding out right away, or waiting until I make it home...

Hi, name is Liz and I applied early to Skidmore college. I was wondering if it was 100% true that they are sending out the decisions in the mail on the 13th? i went online and it said mid-december, so i'm not entirely sure what that means, thank you!

Yes it is true. I wrote today and that is what they told me. I would guess they would come around the 15th. Good luck to everyone who applied DE1! Skidmore is a great college and I really hope my son gets in, but there is always a reason for everything.

Thank you for your help, good luck to your son and everyone else who is applying!

p.s. would this mean that if i live in new jersey, there would be a chance that i would get it on friday?

My son heard from Union ED yesterday and the letters were supposed to arrive on Fri. the 14th. He got in! Good luck to you all who are waiting to hear.

Congrats on Union! And thanks to all! One day until letters are sent out and probably by Friday or Saturday we will hear. Good luck to all, the wait is terrible. My son seems so cool about it, but has gotten a bit quiet this week. I am glad he is busy with school (huge research paper due next week) and basketball (a ton of games). On pins and needles.......

Wow, just got home and son got accepted to Ithaca College. Huge relief at this point. Really good school and son liked it, so the pressure is now a lot less. With the big storm approaching, will the mail now get through?

The day the letters go out. After looking at 15+ colleges, Skidmore has an essence that is unlike any other. I know that everything happens for a reason, but there was just something truly special about Skidmore. My son and I were walking around campus and we went down by the pond. A group of ducks followed him around and he said, "Look, they want me to go here." To see a 6'5" young man so happy about a gaggle (?) of ducks was a memory for me. Slidmore just seems like a perfect fit. In fact, he is writing a 10 page paper on Global Warming, and when I asked him why he picked that, he responded, "Everyone at Skidmorre thinks it is important." I think that says it all!

Congrats to your son. I should have applied somewhere EA or something as well, so I'd have something else coming around this time, but I was in China for the fall and getting just the one application off while I was there was enough of a hassle, getting multiple ones organized would have been chaos.

I totally agree with you on the "essence" at Skidmore. It definitely wasn't like any of the other schools I saw.

Unfortunately I probably won't get my letter until at least Monday, as I'm in VA and we have snow coming this weekend apparently. I'm trying to stay busy and not get my hopes up, but I'm nervous. If only I was better at the SAT math...

Anyway, good luck to us both!!

You sound just like a young person that will be at Skidmore. I really hope you get in as it appears it is the school for you. I hope the storm does not slow the mail down. Tomorrow would be great to hear. Good luck again!

Has anyone received their letter today yet?
I'm giong to speed home after school to see if it's in the mail... hopefully the weather didn't slow it down, the weather around here is fine but who knows?

good luck to everyone!

Did not come today =( Oh well hopefully tomorrow!

Today should be the day! Good luck to everyone who applied ED! People's lives will change today.
