Early Decision Which School?

Is only very hard to get into ED? I was thinking it might make more sense to apply to artsci and transfer. I really want to go to Olin but I would rather be accepted to artsci than deffered/ rejected @ Olin. I am afraid it will be much more selective ED since it is so much smaller than artsci.

My stats are–
GPA:
junior year: Probably a 3.8 on a 4.0 scale. (I have a 5.2 on a 6.0 scale)
precalculus 5 Spanish 4H 5.0 Economics honors 5.5 English 3 5.0 AP US: 4.5 Graphic Design Portfolio: 6.0
class rank:
unavailable but I attend a difficult private school.

Senior classes: AP Microecon, Calculus, AP Spanish Lang & Culture, AP English Lang, Biomechanics, AP studio art (graphic design)– should I submit portfolio with app?

ACT: Superscore 33
first attempt 27 composite, E30, M27, R26, S24
second attempt 32 composite, E27, M31, R35, S34

EC stuff:
-will be 4 year tour guide
-Founder, and dj/ manager of schools online radio (also interviewed an alumn who founded a big investment firm, who was named one of the “world’s 100 most powerful and influential people” by Time magazine
-will be 4 years of varsity lacrosse
-Fall sport weightlifting
-winter sport two years of 3rds and one year of JV squash
-Leader of roundtable discussion (discuss current issues)

  • prefect (basically the boarding school equivalent of an RA)
Work experience: 4 years of caddying at a private golf course Started my own graphic design business that makes websites and logos for small businesses/ startups
Volunteer work: 6 year volunteer boys and girls club 5 years working with my county’s nature conservation foundation

I do think Olin is more selective than Art&Sci, and you may be able to switch schools even over the summer, which I know a girl did with Sam Fox to ArtSci because she realized Architecture wasn’t for her. I don’t know how the selectivity differs between ED and RD in Olin and on what level. You seem to very qualified so best of luck in the craziness that is college admissions!
