I am guessing that those who got "likely" all dashed to CC to share the great news, or else that would mean that Wellesley decided to accept a lot of students...

it was actually the reverse for me. i was on CC, because I was super bored, and I decided to check in on the Wellesley board. Then I found out that EE decisions were out. I checked and then I decided to share the good news!

Plus, that is only like 20 names, hardly enough to be considered a lot.

Congrats to everyone, it is such a relief knowing there is a place for me somewhere.

I've talked to a Wellesley staff officer and this is a basic summary of what they said:

The "Likely" decision is basically an unofficial acceptance letter. The thing about "continuing your academic excellence..." is basically a loophole for the admissions council. Just in case you get embroiled in some big scandal, commit a huge crime, fail school, etc. Similar to the fine print on the ED acceptees' letters.

So...CONGRATS to the "Likely"s! And remember: good girls are bad girls that don't get caught... I saw that on a shirt somewhere and have been wanting to use it forever!
