Early or Regular?

would it be more of a benifit to apply early or regular some colleges accept more people early but then it is more competitive...

Depends if you're talking about early decision or early action.

Early decision is binding - that is, if you get in, you must attend that school. You should only apply ED if a school is definitely your first choice, and you don't need to compare financial aid packages. Schools do have higher admit rates ED than RD. This is partially because ED applicants have a 100% yield and are good for schools' stats, but it's mostly because ED applicants tend to be highly qualified and to be really good matches for the schools.

Early action is nonbinding. Some schools have single-choice early action, where you can only apply EA to one school; other schools don't mind. There aren't really any drawbacks to applying EA - you get your application done with earlier, your results come sooner, but you still don't need to commit to anything until May 1.

Does that help?
