<p>Sorry, didn’t mean to confuse anyone. The e-mail I received was most definitely not a likely letter or an early write, I just thought this would be a good thread on which to ask my question.</p>
<p>What I got was basically an informal note from the counselor who read my application. It was kind of lucky for me, since we share the hobby I wrote my essay about. Though she said she hoped I would get in, she made no guarantees (of course, at a school like Williams, there’s no telling). It was a really nice compliment; I just wanted to know if this happened frequently.</p>
<p>I don’t really expect an early write (probably better that way), though it would be nice…</p>
